Common questions

How long does an EICR take?

It depends on the size of the property, how many circuits there are and how easy they are to get at.

Will the electricity be turned off?

Yes, circuit by circuit while each one is tested. Tell us beforehand about anything that mustn't lose power, such as medical equipment or freezers.

Does an EICR include repairs?

No. The report and any remedial work are separate unless the quote says otherwise.

How often should a home be tested?

It depends on the type of property, how it's used and its condition. Rented homes in Wales are generally tested at least every five years.
